For me this trip was a journey to work through my own connection between the spiritual and my emotions. Singing as a part of something bigger than myself, and - in my mind - for something bigger than anything in the entire world, brought me a journey that I will never forget. Our tour was the closing of one spiritual journey and the beginning of the next for me. I can’t wait for the many more after this. I know that this connection between the spiritual and how I feel while singing is something that will help me through anything. It is what this tour has reignited within me to focus on when I am going through a rough time.

I’d like to thank everyone that made this trip awesome. Who knew that my first year of college would end with such an uplifting experience. It was something that I needed and I now know how awesome it truly is to be a part of a choir. To be a part of a team. To be a part of a family.

These next pictures are just random pictures from throughout the trip that I felt deserved a spot on this blog! I had such an amazing experience on this trip and I would like to thank everyone that made it possible. I would especially like to thank Dr. Burleson!

This is an experience that I will take with me til the ends of the earth and I’m so happy that I was able to go and experience all the things that I experienced and I know that I am a better person, better musician, better everything!

I’m so excited for our next trip! YAY!

The rest of our trip was spent in Prague, Czech Republic! Prague is one of the most amazing cities I have ever been to. I could easily live in Prague (if I learned the language haha)! We visited almost every part of prague except for Little Town really. But we did visit the Palace, Old Town, and our hotel was actually in New Town. The culture between Vienna and Prague was very different. I had a wonderful time and made some awesome memories - like putting a lock on the lock bridge with all of our “crew’s” names. BODB for life!

These were a group of street performers in Baden. They were so great and the bass that the guy is playing is probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen ever! So enjoy them!

Day 3: We left Vienna and spent the morning at Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt where we informally sang in front of an audience of tourists in none other than Haydn Hall. The Hall that is said to have the closest thing to perfect acoustics! After that we headed to Baden, Austria to compete in the Ave Verum International Choral Competition! We didn’t make it very far! However, we now know what we need to grow in as a choir! We also met some amazing people like our amazing tour guide Sabine who was so helpful in everything! She was amazing! Competing in this competition was a wonderful experience and I can’t wait until we go back!

This is Klosterneuburg Abbey! This Place is just as beautiful if not more than anything we had seen so far on this trip! We got a tour of the abbey and then got to sing in their cathedral! Which has some of the most amazing acoustics ever! I wish I had some recordings but I don’t! We got to sing with a local choir and then have a great time with them afterwards with food and wine! They know how to party! haha. Klosterneuburg was definitely a great addition to our trip and we got a good taste of Austrian Culture.

Day 2: We Toured the center of Vienna! Everything we encountered was just gorgeous! Most of the buildings left me breathless but the building that I loved the most was the Stephansdom. It was one of the most beautiful sites that I have ever seen. One of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen and it gave me a feeling that I can only describe as reverence. Vienna is definitely one of the most gorgeous cities EVER! Top 10 at least!

These are some of the Statues guarding the Schonbrunn Gardens. They are just beautiful so they had to be on my blog! There’s also a picture of part of one of the gardens and an overview of Vienna from the top of the hill behind Schonbrunn. All so beautiful. Seeing these like this really makes me appreciate the history behind them. It also reminds me how young the United States really is.

Day 1 (Kinda): We had just arrived in Vienna, some of us a little grumpy (myself included haha). We were all just a little tired which is completely and utterly understandable after an overnight 9 hour flight. However we had to be excited and what better way to expand on that excitement than having our first impression of Austria be in a beautiful palace. The Schönbrunn Palace was probably one of my favorite places. Everything there and I mean everything was just beautiful! Although the inside of the palace was gorgeous, the outside gardens were probably my favorite part! We didn’t really get to go into the gardens but from what could be seen they looked awesome! If we would have had more time, I would have liked to explore the gardens and see how truly beautiful they are.

AT Denver International Airport! Super excited to board on our almost 10 hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany! Part of the excitement is the fact that we all get to share in this experience together as a group and more importantly as friends!

Until we are on a plane from Denver International Airport to Frankfurt, Germany on the first stretch of our trip! I’m so excited! Today I’m just getting last minute things ready finishing up packing and then tonight we will have our BON VOYAGE CONCERT! 7:30pm at First Congregational Church off of 16th St. It’s gonna be Awesome!!!!

YAY! FOR EUROPE!
